"Inglourious Basterds" Official Premiere in Los Angeles

Yeah, it was their time – their moment of fame, when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt joined Quentin Tarantino at the premiere of “Inglourious Basterds.” Actually the two of them not only made people turn their heads but literally stopped traffic on Hollywood Boulevard. The premier of the movie took place at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Monday.

I am ready to bet you already know that Brad Pitt is playing the main role in Tarantino’s unusual movie about World War II. According to Tarantino he was crazy about having Pitt in his movie, because this role was something he could perform flawless. As it turned out, Tarantino was right.

Pitt is a pitiless, cold-blooded and damn attractive Nazi officer, he looks really great in the movie. Diane Kruger was a perfect choice as well, she was highly believable and natural.

The premiere of Tarantino’s new WWII flick was a tremendous success, however, most critics claim that this movie has too much blood. I can’t agree more.

Inglorious Basterds 2009 – Where the Story Begins …

According to Quentin Tarantino – who is the father of the upcoming movie, “Inglorious basterds” will be a real gem, the hottest movie of all times. Tarantino himself is crazy about the movie and he was “too precious about the page,” so it took him a lot of time to write the script. Tarantino views this script as masterpiece and he feels it will be the best thing he’d ever written. At the beginning of the 21st century the director had been making a couple of scripts but none of them seemed to be equally important to this. Tarantino took a punt on “Inglorious basterds.”

It was originally reported that actor Michael Madsen, who participated in Tarantino’s Kill Bill would star in the movie and its released was scheduled for 2004. But in the process of writing a script Tarantino found Bastards to be much important and bigger than planned. It took him almost a year to create an ending. The director planned to start this movie in 2005.

In November 2004, the director suspended production of Inglourious Bastards and started directing a part of the 2007 Grindhouse. However, he was still insistent to finish the movie by 2008. After completing the movie Tarantino said he thought it was the closest thing to Pulp Fiction.

When the script was finished, it was leaked on the web and unfortunately Tarantino failed to pull a rabbit out of the hat. The official debut was made at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009 and the film will hit theatres on August 19 in France.

“Inglourious Basterds” is a completely new and highly catching movie about war, feelings and relations both written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. A lot of critics predict it to be as popular and interesting as “Pulp Fiction.” The title of the upcoming film was inspired by Italian 1978 movie of the same name. However, these Inglorious Basterds have nothing in common with the abovementioned film and it is not a remake of that film as well.

The movie boasts a large and really famous cast including Brad Pitt as Lieutenant Aldo Raine, Diane Kruger as Bridget Von Hammersmark, Mélanie Laurent as Shosanna Dreyfus, Mike Myers, and Samuel L. Jackson.

The movie promises to be very interesting and intelligent. There are two main plot lines in it. The first one begins in German-occupied France, where the tragedy occurs – a young girl Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent) becomes a witness of her family execution. She escapes to Paris and gets a new identity, she becomes the owner and operator of a cinema … but she never leaves her revenge plans …

The second plot line sets somewhere in Europe where Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) creates a special group of Jewish soldiers known as “The Basterds.” Their main aim is to eliminate Nazis. That is where the two plot lines intervenes …

“Inglourious Basterds” movie is expected to hit theaters worldwide on August 21st, 2009.
